  BIOGRAPHY: John was a bricklayer who went to South America before 1840 and became a sugar-planter. He did not marry but probate of his estate was in the UK - the ?80,000 legacy refused by the affronted Rowland Robert Teape Davis, reverted to UK Treasury. I {Judith Olsen} was told that although a grand-daughter sought to overturn this event, too much time and the distance of her relationship to RRTD, prevented it.
