  BIOGRAPHY: NB. While there is an entry in BMD N.S.W. for an Emma Butterfield born 1868, there is no mention of a marriage to a "Koychen" which either leads one to suspect that Emma may have married overseas or for some reason changed her name. OCCUPATION: Pharmacist ------------------------- Note: from Adrienne Bradley (nee De Salis)4/5/07: Dear Nereda and Gordon I have had a chance to study the notes you gave me from Rae. They have given me quite a few extra dates, places and details. There are two things I would like query, not that I am definite about them, I could easily have things wrong and I have no evidence at all: i) I have Phillip's grandfather down as Charles WINCHESTER, whereas Rae has him as William WINCHESTER; ii) Phillip's first wife I have as Elizabeth JAMES not Elizabeth SAUNDERS, her parents being Nathaniel and Ann JAMES. This information came from a grandson of Lydia and James GRISSELL; The other thing that may help Rae is that I have Emma as marrying for the third time when she married Phillip - her maiden name being BUTTERFIELD, she then married Ernest BROWN. Ernest and Emma had two sons, one who died in infancy and the other named George (known as George BROWN or George KOYCHEN but not George WINCHESTER). Then she married Mr KOYCHEN before she married Phillip. This information came from the same grandson of Lydia and James GRISSELL mentioned above.
