  Notes	From Rae: Mary and William had 12 children. The 1841 Census gives the following information: William, age 42, and Mary, age 41, Winchester were living in Bromley Common, Kent. William's occupation was gardener. Also living at home at that time were Richard 16, Sarah 13, Stephen 11, Thomas 8, John 10, Benjamin 4 and Edwin 12 months. In the 1851 census their address was 46 Turnpike Road, Bromley Common. Richard aged 26 was still living at home along with siblings Benjamin 14, Edwin 11 and Enoch 9. Mary died in 1852 (source England & Wales BMD) and William married a Frances Prater in 1854 (source England & Wales BMD). Frances was about 17 years William's senior. The 1861 census has William and Frances living in Southboro Rd. cottages, Bromley. William's son Richard aged 36 still living at home. William died in 1869 aged 70, and Frances died in 1870 aged 87 (both dates sourced from England & Wales BMD). -------------------------------------------
